Help my son choose a flip phone. |

Don't really know about flip phones - do SE do any???
My son is now old enough to have a mobile of his own. He likes the flip style ones...
We've been for a look in the local shops, the criteria are he wants to 1) phone and 2) text also a selection of 3) ringtones & 4) games with 5) colour screen...
The ones he has seen and likes are samsung X460 or E330, motorola V220, LG 3300
Any advice on pros / cons?
Also don't want one looking too valuable as don't want him getting mugged for it!

Samsung or panasonic are there for flip phones. I do not think se has one. Or has it?

Hey Ive always used a flip phone. Z5 > Z200 > P900. I think the soon to be released Z520 would be really cool for ure son. Do consider W600 (slider) phone as well. Among the old ones Z600 is also very good. The rest V/Z800, Z1010 r expensive. But make sure u get him an se. |

I think that Sony Ericsson's Z600 would be a good choice. It's cheap and has all the things that your son wants. Plus a little more 
It's a good phone. AND it's a Sony Ericsson

Z600 looks great - unfortunately... He likes the Samsung X460 better...

Z200 is not a bad phone at all. I used it for almost a year & that to in a city full of blokias. It kicked blokia's ass every where it could. Only thing u cant download games & themes on this one even though the wap browser gave a tough time to the series 40 blokias. I would say wait 4 the Z520 or get him the Z600. Do search the forum for Z520. U would be amaized with it. Especially the led effect. All the best.
P.S. The blokias started to make flip phones only after seeing the success of se flip phones & samsung, LG r koreans & panasonic is crap. Get ure son an se. He ll definatly be grateful. |

If you wait a little the Z520 should be out which is a much better looking phone than the Z500 and it has more features. If he doesn't like it or you he doesn't want to wait, then Samsung is also a good choice.

the samsung X460 is a very good phone for its price, however no camera.
I bought one for my sister a few months back for 55quid from www.lxdirect.com and i must say it surprised me for such a phone to be so cheap and clam shell as clam shells are usually much more expensive. It is just basic though. A great starter phone for your son.

The Z600 is a proven phone and it can take a beating. Plus you can exchange the style covers.
