If you touch the copper connectors, there is a small chance you damage it. Also electro-magnetic or static discharge damages the card and can be fatal. If it gets wet, try to dry it on the air in normal conditions, not on a warm place (i.e. heating or so)
Everything was ugly, but your beautiful face.

if the memmory card looks clean and isn't damaged, try to format it using a cardreader and a windows pc. Then put it back in the phone and format it again from the phone menu.

Hard knocks, proximity to magnetic fields, etc. Be careful not to leave it close to equipment which emits a magnetic field...

Magnets, water, touching the copper part and if its physically damaged... also if it got very very very hot (which I doubt downloading can do)....

But I think you need to just reformat it.

if it looks ok but not workin then this is probably a "soft" problem which is caused by an application on fone. like: if u close or take the battery out of the fone while it is saving data on the card, the card can be damaged (as happened to me)...

The problem is if i try to open the card it creats strange ascii files & folder. But sometimes i m able to open normaly.
And wen i put the mem card in n6600 it says mem card corupted. But i am able to format in it while i m nt able to format it in my 6230.

When you do a pc format, ensure you're using the correct FAT system. I'm not sure what it should be though, i've never had to pc format a mmc myself yet... Formatted my corrupted 128mmc on my 6600 a while ago.

I once droped my Sony 128MB MS card in the bath while swapping it out and apart from having to dry it with my GFs hairdryer nothing happened, it is still working perfectly today.
