Is it possible to download software to my new Sony Ericsson 750i to play WMV or mpeg files ?? The phone doesn't seem to play any of the standard PC formats, which is a great shame. otherwise good enough.

Thanks Philip.

The k750i will only support the standard 3gp amd mpeg4 formats....However you can use a video conversion tool like IMTOO or Xilisoft or mpegable to convert videos in other formats to 3gp or mpeg4 and thwen transfer them to the phone...cheers

Just get Nokia Multimedia Converter
http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,,034-63,00.html
its FREE, tho it does requires
1) a nokia forum account
2) a valid email adress (for the activation code string)

I've no problems with that

c'mon

no need to use the nokia converter with its limitid quality in video and sound, such a waste on the S//E phones which can play much better.

use the guide from spawn allready linked to above and get some quality video instead.

I wonder if the se K750i will be able to record video at 320 x 240 or 352 x 288 with a next release of the firmware.

I realy need this feature: there no possible comparison between actual resolution(176 X 144) and a 352 x 288 recoded videos (you would get with a samsung e720 )

but is there not a hardware limitation?

This is a hardware limitation
It will not be supported in future firmwares
