I understood that native support was NOT coming with the SP. Confusing times indeed.

Windows XP WILL support Bluetooth properly. I think Microsoft will release drivers in SP1 when it becomes available by the end of the year. USB 2.0 will hopefully have native support too. |

sp1 for xp will be available by the end of next week, however the bluetooth support will not be in it. It'll probably turn up sometime early next year, or whenver Microsoft release their bluetooth keyboard and mouse

True - a source in Microsoft tells me that SP1 should be released on [delayed] time later this week and it will not include Bluetooth support. Bluetooth drivers will follow separately - possibly before the end of this year. Let's all hope.
My experiences with both:
On SP1: I have been using it for some time and it's good with hardware and drivers, etc and provides more flexibility to users who do not want to use Microsoft products like Media Player, Internet Explorer, Windows Messenger and others but lets you choose third party software instead! Force of law
On Bluetooth: Beta drivers for Bluetooth support on Windows XP are available for MSDN Subscribers. This is a sign that they should be out sometime not too far away. Let's all hope again.
