Debranded my V800 to a Z800, but not is all as it seems |

Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I debranded my V800 to what I thought was a Z800. It was completly successful, I got rid of the voda branding. However after reading some posts last night it occured to me that the 'live' button is not still meant to exist on the right softkey. That did not phase me to much however just now I found out that I can't add any mp3 with out the DRM software (which I do have). So basically I have a Z800 phone cosmetically but still have the V800 limits. Does that make sense? Is this normal? What can I do to change this? |

are you sure about this?
Look at your top left icon in the menu selection section.
Is it a page with an SE logo on it?
Or is it something else?

it is with the sony logo, but when the phone is on standby it has the voda live button assigned to the right button as opposed to the 'more' function. Also still can't add mp3. |

Did you try a master reset after the debranding? |

You would lose all your settings but they can be downloaded from se website. You would have lost your settings when you debranded.

If the master reset dosent fix the problem. What files did you flash?
Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

When I debranded it, I lost no setting at all, it still had all of the vodaphone setting, the vodaphone startup screen still appeared and it would not allow me to delete them. The thing is I unbraded two different v800 and the same thing is happening with both phones, I just thought it was normal...I am about to do the master reset now, so I will keep you posted. Thanks for your quick response.

Need to know, what software you used, what files (copy filenames here) and what effect master reset had.

maybe it was an altered firmware.
Just a voda fone with SE icons.
G can do that sort of stuff I think.

Not likely, without knowing what has happened i guess that he has accidently flashed incorrect files, but we need to see those names

Ok did the master reset, and nothing has changed (apart from losing my contact!  ). I used Total Multi Server, no problems with the installation as far as I could tell. I downloaded the file Z800i_R1AB014_ZONE_1_EU-EMEA.V8S
Is that the right file? Voda still thinks that my phone is a z800i because i am unable to view their live portal correctly...no 3G available (apart from video calls).
I have taken photo's of the phone if you want I can upload it for you

It all sounds very strange, what language pack did you use?
Could you post screenshots of the phone showing the live! button and other Voda branding? |

I do not think you completely flashed the phone dude. I used Davinci and used the R1014B and all the Voda-crap stuff is gone. Can you flash again?

As i suspect, you only flashing 1 file. SEMC firmware consists of main firmware and of FS. I guess you flashed fs only..........download both file then flash both at the same time with finalization.
