How come nobody seems excited about the k600? |

I'm due to get a new phone and contract in the next 2-3 weeks and was really looking forward to getting the K750 (i love the idea of a high res screen and camera)... but then i heard about, or more importantly SAW the k600. I'm really not bothered about 3g but maybe i will be in 6-8months? I think it looks grrreat and the screen res is the same as the k750 (i think?) but the camera isn't as good
I suppose my point is that i've been slightly put off by all the "issues" that seem to keep cropping up with the k750 (camera not being as good as it's sposed to be, flimsy build etc etc) and have been looking at the k600 but am just suprised there seems to be no "hype" around it like there was with the k750 and was just wondering why this was as as far as i'm aware (i spoke to orange) the k600 is due out mid august...
What's your oppinion and what have you heard about the k600? Do you wish you'd waited to buy a k600 instead of k750?
Thanks!

The biggest lack of k600 is that it dont support memorycards.

the K600 is great lil phone, depending what you need. If you don't need memory sticks then its fine.
I'd have preferred that it was on the new usb connector but cest la vie.
Otherwise very stylish phone!

Looks like a very nice phone. I know a few orange trialists who are testing them. No complaints so far. True it does not have a memory card, but then again it's seems to be the k500's successor. Cant wait for the k608 on 3

Most people only here complaints about phones because most people couldn't be bothered to tell about how good their phone is, but they'll complain when they find a problem though. 3g is still quite new and a lot of countries don't have it, hence less buzz. K600 is more of a 3g K700 than anything else and its not really high end so it makes less buzz. Its a nice phone, you can't deny that.

Pretty much most phones go through problems in the early stages. I haven't found my K750 to be that flimsy either. Sure, it doesn't seem as tough as the K700 but it seems tougher than say a T630. |

i think it was a bad idea to not have a mem card slot in it.

Well,
I have a V600i (same sh*t) and i quite like it.
It must be the smallest candybar 3G phone widely available.
The only downside, not so good pics and lack of external mem.
As for the rest... perfect!

It's a good phone actually but its position is quite wierd. It has better cam than K700 but lower memory. If this phone had a larger memory (like 128MB), it would have created a bigger issue -- but then it wouldn't have been called a K600, maybe K720.

It is not only k600, but also there may be a list of less discussed phones.

K600 is a great phone and its build looks more elegant and solid than K750.
However, since it's a 3G phone and in my country the 3G network currently still in the trial period, not so many people interested to buy K600 because it is very expensive.
K600 already out and available here with the price about USD 490 (compared to the K750 that "only" USD 380), so why you buy K600 that has only 1.3 MP camera without external memory slot while there is K750 with 2 MP camera and external memory expansion support with the lower price?

I agree. 3G is still in infancy in the market here in my country too. It's generally too expensive for access. And what's the point of getting a videophone if most of your friends don't have the same capability? Thus, people would still rather get non-3G phones with loads of other features. I still know no one who is on 3G yet.

I have just got a v600i myself and must say it is a good phone. The only drawback is the lack of memory it has. The camera is more than good enough for day to day snaps and if i want real pictures then i will use my camera. The memory issue just seems daft to me though, for the sake of that they have produced a good phone rather than a great one. |

I agree --- I got the phone today and the memory issue is a bit irritating... The Samsung 3G phone is lighter than K600 but it still has a Microflash card is available up to sizes of 256 kB.
On the other hand --- if music is what you want the operator 3 has a streaming music service that is cheap enough to use and with streaming, you don't need any memory at all, which is great!
To bad I dont have 3...
