T39 not vibrating? |

uhoh.. my T39 (that's only a few weeks old) has ceased to vibrate. I just realized it now. Last time I can remember it vibrating was, interestingly enough, about 1 hour before I dropped it
I've dropped my T39 twice. Both times while getting into the car. Both times because of the crappy ill-conceived ericsson belt swivel clip. I have to admit, the cheap clip came without a screw.. so I improvised, using the screw that used to hold on the swivel thing on my ooold LX788 (like the T18 style). It works fine, except.. when getting into my car and on my left hip (usually I don't have the phone on the left side). I won't get into how much it sucks trying to get that stupid clip to fit over my belt, although supposedly it should work better on pants w/out a belt (I don't think it does, but that's just my opinion..)
So anyway, I'm wondering if it's completely broken. Everything else on the phone works fine, in fact there is not so much as a scratch on it anywhere. The second time it dropped getting in my car, it fell to the ground instead of into the car (only about 2 feet though, I have a relatively low car).
Any way I can test this out? If it was some kind of settings bug, maybe trying my sim in another T39 would rule that out? But not necessarily.. if it was a software bug, it would still only happen on MY phone.
What does a master reset reset? I mean, I know it resets everything, but will everything be stored on my sim if I save my phonebook to sim? Or will there be funky settings like my voicemail number and all kinds of crap I need to re-enter?
I can't get warranty support on it, because I had to buy it on eBay -- the only way to buy a non-toy Ericsson phone in the US. (Yes, the phone was new in all original packaging, everything sealed, etc).
I suppose I could buy a new one on eBay for $200, and then sell mine as "vibrate function broken, less than 60minutes on the phone" for probably over $100.. but I want to avoid having to spend more money.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Failing any easier resolution, I'll try a master reset, as long as it won't wipe settings that I won't know off the top of my head
thanks!

not much you can do but leave it for service, if you want to have it vibrating again... the vibrator probably needs to be replaced. As long as there is warranty of production you don't need any other papers. Underneath the battery on the label there is a productiondate (for example 02w10, meaning it's manufactured in year 2002, week 10), and the warranty of production is 15 month from this date.
phonesettings can't be saved to the sim... if you don't make a backup of theese (with for example PhoneBackup) they are lost when resetting the phone.
