Software for higher quality AMR files |

I'm looking for a program which converts sound files into AMR format,in a higher quality than usual.
When you record a sound using your phone,it is saved with 4.8 kbps bitrate. When you convert a sound using Miksoft Amr converter, then you get a bitrate of 8 kbps.
I'm looking for a program which can convert a sound to AMR with at least 12 kbps bitrate or higher...

Quote from the apple quicktime developer site regarding the official AMR standard:
Quote:
| The AMR codec is a variable bit rate codec that operates at bit rates in the range of 4.75 kbit/s to 12.2 kbit/s for narrowband. It was standardized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) in 1999. |

So I'm afraid it looks like the highest bitrate IS 12.2kb unfortunately..
edit: oops, didn't notice that you hadn't yet got up to 12kb. i'll keep looking

Looks like the miksoft converter will do the job
http://www.miksoft.net/mobileAMRconverter.htm
Also read http://www.mobiledia.com/forum/topic5252.html as it seems the software has a small bug.
Hope this helps |
