Welcome to Esato!

Just to clarify the question...

You own a Ford Mondeo (newer than Y2K) and you want to mount a HCH-37 to hold your P910. Are you looking for advice on where/how to screw it to the dashboard, or on how to mount the HCH-37 without putting holes in the dashboard?

I have experience with both types of mountings.

Do you have a carkit installed or about to be installed?
Do you need installation/radio mute advice also?

hijacking this thread (sorry!) ... what is the best way of fitting a p910i to a car without using screws or damaging the car, for use with sat nav... i.e. a need to see the screen?

On the 3 Series I usually remove the stereo, then make up a bracket out of Aircraft Grade Aluminium, which is mounted to the left of the stereo (RHD), angled towards the driver and secured in place by one of the Philips screws which secures the stereo.
To this you can mount the HCH-37.
The bracket can be spray painted matte-black or have upholstery material glued to it.

You can use something like this (hasn't to be this model).

I use it and it's very easy!

All the best,

That looks quite cool compared to all the tacky universal holders we get here. How resistant to vibration is it and does it use self adhesive to attach?
The P910 could be too heavy for for the self adhesive pads.

Hi Carkitter,

Iwont like to make holes in the dashboard. I would like to fix something in the dashboard which allows to screw on it the HCH and can hold the phone without risk for droping the phone.

Check http://www.pdashop.nl/product/10991/16506/18
or
http://www.hr-autocomfort.de/english/Default.asp

And the holder is quite tremor free, but on certain speed you get resonance.
The P900 is not too heavy, the holder carries it well.

Althoug a mount (Brodit) is more stable, the richter unit works fine enough.

All the best,

Jorgos

I use the same thing but I have removed the holder that is on the end of the bendy arm and replaced it with an HCH-40 (although it did have an HCH37 on it for 6 months). It works great, no holes in the dash and the phone is mounted at eye level. The base of the holder touches the dashboard so it doesnt move around.

@eepo

Those brodit brackets look very good.
Unfortunately, they're not available here in NZ that I know of.
They mount the cradle in front of the air vents though which is not ideal.

@leocyber

If you decide to go for that brodit bracket for the Mondeo, PM me and I will let you know how to remove the central dash panel to fit the bracket. There are some tricks involved and hidden screws to find.
I can save you some time and frustration...

@gyre

That photo of the 3 Series dash shows the bracket mounted over the air vent which I always try to avoid. It does have the advantage of placing the phone closer to you though. Here's where I'd mount my bracket:
