Hi
I currently have a K700i on orange.
It's time to upgrade, and I want the K750i. I don't really want to leave orange but i've read about people on here getting great deals when they ask for a pac code, and I can't seem to get one.
I want to keep the same number, so phoned orange for a pac code. They wouldn't offer me anything like what some of you guys have been offered! Not fair!
What shall I do? I really want over 250 texts and about 200 x network mins as cheap as possible. Any suggestions?? Thanks |

All you can do is ring the 'thinking of leaving Orange dept.' and have a word with them. Use the I have seen a better deal elsewhere but I really want to stay with Orange line, its worked for me before but ultimately its down to your monthly spend and what you want from them. Who you speak too can also make a difference as can how you approach them. If your spend is not that great (in their eyes) then they aren't going to be too bothered about trying to keep hold of you, especially if you play the I want card. There is some good deals for 'brand new customers only' so to get what you want you may need to use your PAC. |

I'm in an identical situation. I have the k700 and it's time to change my contract.
I phoned orange last week to ask for my pac number. When asked why i was thinking of leaving i told them that i was after a better deal and told them of the deals people here were getting from O2 for being existing customers. All they could offer me was the bog standard 200 mins and 500 texts that they're pushing at the moment.
When i asked about getting the cost down i was told that they would not do it for less, implying that they were physically unable to better that deal.
After thinking my options through i have decided to leave orange and move back to O2. I'm not bothered about CS at orange, or which is the best.. i just want value for money.. i did discover that 02 would rollover my unused inclusive mins for 3 months while orange said they couldn't.... i can get the same deal from o2 as what orange would offer me.... the only difference is orange is losing a existing customer as they don't seem to believe in rewarding loyalty...
sorry.... they do but you have to sign up to an 18 month contract...
i'm feeling a little bitter at the moment... we all spend vast amounts with these companies.... but they do little to help us..

Thats the point though, I am not commenting on your experience as such but how many people actually spend vast amounts. These folks usually get what they want if they are. We all want value for money (endless mins and texts for next to nothing) but at the end of the day they have profits etc. to consider. I see no problem in using my PAC if I feel I am not getting a good deal. Signing up as a new customer on another network usually brings a better deal anyway. |

Lambert...
I understand where you're coming from.. of course they need to make money, new customers get the better deals (it's how networks entice people to subscribe) but I, like many others out there never come in on cost.. i do always end up with a bill 10-20 pounds more than my basic tariff.
Now this may be my fault, or that of the guy who sold me my contract.. it's not important.. what would be nice is if they recognised that sometimes i do actually pay for using my phone and don't just use the 'free' portion, which in turn may lead to say a 10% discount on my renewed contract.. just a thought..
But it may make me feel wanted, loved even.. only joking.. |

I totally agree with what you are saying, mine bill is always over my 'tariff'. My point is that if you feel the network doesn't want your business anymore then do as I do where possible and vote with your feet. |

I've decided to wait a few weks and look around again, hopefully a killer deal will come up... but i won't hold my breath

I'll tell you a method that worked once for me -
Get PAC code from Orange
Buy T Mobile PAYG sim card (about £1if shop around on internet)
Port Orange number to this sim card
Take out best Orange offer for new customers
Port T Mobile number

Im in the same situation. I have a K700 and my Orange contract is over at the start of Aug. Im thinking of either the K750 or the W800 (now I see its on their website). Last year I got them to match an O2 deal or something and it is called Select 500. It costs about £22 and I bolted on a few texts for a few quid extra.
Im guessing Im not gonna get a better deal than this but I would like a free upgrade. Im hoping the W800 is gonna be free but Im not sure yet. I tend to spend over £30 a month anyway so hopefully they won't be awkward. |

Just mention the words Select 500....
That is what I am on. £25 for 500 x-network minutes, plus 30 texts. |
