This forum is for all t68 users that live in Canada. I'm on Rogers (which sucks) and have little tech support from them. As well the GSM network seems to a have a lot of room to improve. I have experiencced problems with the limited bandwidth of WAP and the inability to SMS to Europe as well as the ability to use any MMS.

Peace,

Where did you get your T68 from (i.e. from Rogers or did you buy it unlocked from a retailer)? Am located in Toronto, currently with Fido (who are supposedly releasing the T68 sometime...), but looking to switch. Is it a T68 or T68i?

Any sources for buying T68i's in Canada?

I bought my 68I and camera from a dealer in the US in May. I had the phone shipped to a friendly address in the US which I then picked up(hint hint no duty or GST) The phone was unlocked and I simply ordered a chip from Rogers. If you would like the dealer name send me a private message, they were easy to deal with, the cheapest around and I would recommend them.

By the way, Rogers/AT&T in Ontario deny they'll ever stock the T68i. It's still possible Fido will and they've just released the SE T200 (in Ontario and Quebec, at least).

Why are the Canadian cell networks so darn behind the curve?

Macfreak, whats up,

1st off I'm also a Machead, hehe--saving up for a PowerMac G4 Dual 1.2Ghz for X-Mas.

Um I know a dealer in Toronto, Lennox Wireless, the owner and only dealer for Fido/SIMPro/Rogers in the store is Gary. Great guy and has T68i in stock unlocked at $800 (I think) for retail, and about $700 with activation Fido/Rogers. He doesnt bullshit, wont screw you and I've got the best customer service from him. NOTE: I have no affiliation with him, he's just a friend. I've bought 2 phones and many accessories from him in the past and I'm only going to him in the future.

He also carries the Nokia 9290i Communicator unlocked as well.
Also, he has the Communicam HBH-30 instock as well. Many other unlocked phones. Go check out his selection and prices (Yonge & Bloor)Toronto, and see for yourself.

Hi,

I'm in Vancouver, and I've been using a T68i (purchased from SIMPro) on Rogers for a month or so. I've been using the GPRS settings (goam.com etc) posted elsewhere in these forums, and everything has been working fine.

Until this weekend, anyway. Now, when I try to connect, I get "GPRS failed" messages.

Anyone else having similar problems? I haven't yet tried Rogers support, but based on other postings I don't hold out much hope of getting help from them.

Yo Prom,

Thanks for the advice, I'll look Gary up. Nice to have a local expert. My Bluetooth Dlink adaptor arrived today, so all I'm missing is the phone....

Had a Siemens S40 but it was stolen from the Pearson Mapple Leaf lounge. That was a nice phone and I've been missing Triband.

Am saving pennies for a 17" iMac. Can't stretch to the dual processor and, anyway, my wife wants it to fit into the sitting room....

Here's hopin Sony Ericsson won't have dissolved before Apple releases iSync.

Has anyone on Rogers been able to set up an email account?

What about sending MMS messages, any word when Rogers will have the bandwidth to let us use these babies?

I know that a store in Pacific Mall in Toronto would upgrade your T68 to T68i. I'm not sure how reliable they are or how much they charge though. (I'm using T68i)

Also, is there anyone using the FIDO network at York University? I get no reception from most parts of the campus and I'm looking to improve the reception. Thanks.
