Hello
My Set up...
K750i R1L002
O2 online contract (original genie sim)
PROBLEM 1 - I have sent myself the settings via the SE website and also tried via o2 site - sent O2 active - had to select K700 as they did not have K750i listed.
Nothing works, no e-mail, can't send mms, can't get on internet.
E-mailed customer services and they sent full instructions for settings - follow them to a T, went over them again three times - all my settings are as they should be and yet still nothing works apart from sms.
Called customer service and they advised to send text "active" to 2020 - got settings, installed but still no joy. Help Please.
PROBLEM 2 - O2 are also trying to sank me. When I signed up to genie many years a go I was getting unlimited free text. I tried to check my tariff online the other day but due to mine being so old it so no longer available online. E-mailed CS and they replied advising that I have a LIMITED number of free texts per months (everything else about the tariff is the same). I don't think I have any documents to prove I should have UNLIMITED texts as this was all set up online. Any advise please?
PROBLEM 3 - After connecting my phone to pc via usb cable, once I have disconnected, after about 5 mins, my internet connection doesn't disconnect but simply freezes - i.e downloads stop, can't access webpages etc. Advise?
PROBLEM 4 - I've loaded a number of games and for some reason certain games only display on a quater or half of the screen? Is they any way to change the res so that it display in full screen?
Please help

I don't have all the answers, but I'll try. O2 well... can't say anything about that. The K700i settings will not work on the K750i. Why browsing on the pc hangs I don't know. Does everything else work? Or only the internet explorer hang (when you press ctrl, shift, esc, look at prograns and it says: program is not responding). Last issue, most games you download and the are not specifically for the K700 or K750 than the resolution is lower than the resolution of the screen.
Everything was ugly, but your beautiful face. |

problem 4. In games highlight the ones that are small. then go to more, screen size, change that to 128*160 or 176*208 think that should make them fit the screen. Worked on my K700, but haven't tried it on the K750 as all the gamse I'm using fit properly. |

You can't GPRS or MMS on the Genie tariff, at least never been able to get them to provision it on mine. That's right isn't it?
On my newer S700 O2 tariff it's all going pear shaped at the moment. Still getting charged for voicemail calls made in inclusive minutes, even though they admited I shouldn't and now MMS has stopped working.
I think they're going seriously down the pan with customer service technical advice too. |

Please relate to this site: http://www.filesaveas.com/o2wap.html
GPRS will not work with BT GENIE, nor will MMS.. I asked them yrs ago about those, they simply state if you want these you have to upgrade your contract

ok thank guys - at least wap is working now.
For those with the old BT Genie sims (£10.00 a month), do you get unlimited free texts or 600 free texts per month? |

Just a quick message here, in case anyone still reads this thread:
On MOST mobiles, you can't access the Internet/MMS & EMAIL because the over-complicated internal phone settings get in the way. Some work fine once O2 has sent the special texts with all the settings, but many dont! I specialise in the SYMBIAN type phones, & very few work as they are. O2 havent got a clue on ANY of these subjects! Their staff are employed to help you if your problem is (for example) which way up do I hold the phone-and can it go scuba-diving
On my GENIE contract, ive had 100% free Internet access on my PC thru my mobile since 2002! but they changed the settings & now it doesnt work (till I find the NEW settings - ha !)
There is much confusion about the O2 tariffs (as mentioned above), generally because there is the O2 standard tariffs (as you get in a high street store), O2 ONLINE tariffs (which are MUCH better & totally different), also there is the contract versions, and the 'special - free' O2 SIM cards, & finally, there is GENIE (who dont exist anymore) who also had PAYasYOUgo & CONTRACT tariffs (AAARRRGGGHHH!).
On my very old (2001) GENIE contract SIM, I still get 600 free txts, UNLIMITED WAP & Internet, an hours FREE calls (2p-pm after that), BUT no GPRS & no MMS. O2 say its the SIM that cant do that, but thats only because they wont update the system to handle it for me/us.
How do I know that? cos it works if I use a different networks settings, but charges nearly £1 per MMS (and the settings are VERY complicated, its just tricking it into working).
For anybody who wants it all to work, use O2 ONLINE (NEVER use the SHOPS!) and get the £20 per month contract, with ANY series 60 mobile (6630/6680 type recommended for now). That works, and these mobiles are capable of EVERYTHING now. You get 500 FREE txts, WAP/Internet and GPRS/MMS.
I will drop back in again occasionally to see if any contact appears here. |

Oh, I forgot to mention these bits, oops:
GPRS/MMS do work on GENIE, but NOT on the CONTRACT version, just the PAY&GO SIMs. GENIE realised they had been too generous at the time, and withdrew it off the easily-manipulated CONTRACT SIMs. The REALLY old GENIE SIMS have 300 free txts a month (then it txts you to say TOP UP, which is a bit of a trick as the next free txts only start at the start of the NEXT month anyway!), you get totally free 915000 WAP access ( I use NETFRONT for this), and £10 calling credit. MMS is 25p per message.
Also, any of this can change at any time, & O2 have been messing with various setups for the past 12 months. If/when I get time, I will post the new 915000 PC settings here. |

I have been on O2/Cellnet for 10yrs - and ditched their rolling contract in favour of PAYG, over 2yrs ago, as their service is shit and nobody in the call centres has a clue!
Anyways, I upgraded to K750i last week (upgraded to W800i firmware) and have been playing around with the settings. I tried to get on to the internet via WAP to test the phone - which surprisingly worked. However, the charges seem to be 10p per call/minute? - I am not sure at the moment. I have also tried the gmail setup - which did not work! I can receive MMS fine - have not tried sending one yet.
I would be grateful - if anyone can tell me how the GPRS works on O2, as the website is not very informative.
