Dear all,
If you werent aware before, i was one of the unlucky ones to buy the phone on 02 from day one and also the first to report the crash issue. I now find myself having problems with the update software.
I go through everything and check im doing it all properly but when I get the the final screen nothing happens. Its the screen that says remove usb cable from phone turn off phone for 20 seconds press C and re insert usb cable. Problem is, the update doesnt start after 15 seconds or 15 minutes !! what do i do?
cheers,
Benjam. |

@benjam
I had this problem too, It got me really angry! I found out the answer anyway
Instead of following the Sony Ericsson instructions, by removing the cable from the phone, You have to remove the cable from the PC and leave the cable in the phone, wait the 20 seconds and hey presto, no more problems!
PS: Are you using a Dell PC?

Sorry I didnt answer you in the previous thread, you have to update the latest version of Java if you are running into applet problems. Click the link to get the update,

I'm from Istanbul, about 900 kilometers from Alanya (maybe more i don't know ) Alanya is really good for holiday but Istanbul is the biggest city of Turkey, biggest and most beatiful (IMHO) . You must see if you don't.
I don't have relatives in Ireland but I wanna see there.
NB: Sorry for small off-topic chat

I had the same problem. Mine was the usb drivers. When you hold c and plug the phone in windows xp should try and find drivers i was cancelling it but i eventually downloaded them and installed them this way and then repeated the whole thing and bobs your uncle it worked. Can't remember where the drivers were from. Try the k750 firmware overview post (first page)

I have orange k750i and cannot update.
Ive removed all sony software and reinstalled but no joy
i cannot get xp to run new hardware wizard so i can give it the usb drivers.
when i turn off phone and hold "C" the phone boots and i enter my pin but the update software just says "updating" and get egg timer for ever.
Even removed all registry entries.
I remember once getting the wizard but i cancelled it because i thought i had not got the latest usb drivers and since its never ran again.
the only hardware installed is a USB mass storage device.?
getting really peed off now any help outthere??
ps already tried unistall software, and disconnecting usb to pc rather than one to phone (as described in earlier post)

Hi Mate,
I dont think you can update your firmware with the Sony Ericsson Update until you debrand your phone(remove the orange parts of the phone) This can be done with Davinci for a cost of around €10. If you search the rest of the forum for debranding your phone, someone will be able to help you,
Cheers

No, you can definately upgrade orange on seus. Because i have. I now have r1j002, no more freezing. Besides, if you debrand you loose the warrenty whereas with seus your still covered. The problem is your usb drivers, but i'm not sure how to upgrade if the wizard doesn't pop up. Any1?
