K700i.
Having used both, P800 is big and the office applications dont do it justice. Plus, no video recording, crap camera, faded screen etc.
Great for its time though

I can't agreed, I have a p800 (for 2 years and some months) and have tried K700. You can't compare the two. With software you can do almost everything with the p800.
It's a Symbian OS phone with UIQ interface and touchscreen, how can you compare that? Even knowing that it has a 0.3 mp Camera....you can't say that it's better or worse, it's diferent.
But if you think that p800 is now 300 euros and K700 is 175, p800 it's worth the price.
Anyway, it's difficult to find a new P800 now a days, and P910 is now at 450 euros. It's your choice.

P800 is well out of date now and lacking too many features.
The K700 has more apart from not being a smartphone and hence not as flexible and no extenal memory.
If you want a P-Series, pay a bit more and get at least a P900. Much better than the P800

it's like comparing a small japanese car(K700), and a McLaren F1 (p800).
you now can record video on p800, 2hrs movie player, 30-40songs in OGG format, excel, word, power point, (not all this at the same time of course!!!), I've using p800 for 2 years and there was a point were i broke the barrier of having 100 apps at the same time (I have a 128mb MS -the max cap- thou)
Now saddly my company did not allow me to up grade it to p910 and it's too much for my budget, so at this point the only choice that I have is K750i....I'm so used to this phone that using another one with less funcionality than mine sucks!!! |

I think there's really no such thing as a "better" or "worst" phone when it comes to devices from completely different categories, which these two obviously are. Comparing, just cannot be done this way, because users of bothe types of phones see a device's worth completely differently according to their specific needs and expectations. A K750 is absolutely better than a K700, no possible question about it. A P900 is A LOT better than a P800, no question either. But in your case? It's like apples and oranges, many people might argue that if you're gonna carry the bulk and weight of a P800 around you might as well go for a full blown Pocket PC with GSM phone integrated, or that if you're "just" getting a K700 might as well go for a smaller clamshell with full functionality like the V635 or something similar, being as they "can't really do anything anyways" unlike the symbians or P-PCs.
So my advice is: decide first what your NEEDS and expectations are from a mobile phone, and then and only then start looking for devices that fit your budget WITHIN the category of device that fully meets your needs. |

If you need customisable software and the ability to install new software as you need, then the P800 isn't a bad choice at all. (Though a second hand p900 is a better choice)
If you just want a stylish phone for calling, txting, MMS, and a couple of mp3s then K700i is a better choice. I've had both and by far I keep going back to my K700. (I listen to the radio more and usually only end up putting 8 or so mp3s on to listen to or to use as an alarm in the morning) |
