K700i Firmware Flash, is this correct? |

I just returned from the service center for SE here in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where they finished flashing my phone to the latest firmware at my request. The latest firmware my operator (Orange) keeps was from december 2004, which I read here explained the heavy noise in low light conditions on my pictures, so I had to take it directly to the SE shop. They did the update via a DSS-25 from the SE website over the net, and needless to say my phone now doesn't feature any of the special programs and/or shortcuts to services from Orange, but I really don't care about that.
What I do find really, REALLY strange is the NONE of my personal settings were lost. My custom theme, my sounds, my games, it was ALL there, and not only that but in the exact same order in which I had arranged it. Is this to be expected? Also, this is the information that the phone now displays, which I believe varies a little (CXC) from what is posted here as the latest available firmware. Is this info correct, or have they not done the job well or complete?

I'd like to know if I need to take it again to have the job done properly, basically. Thanks a lot in advance for your input, by the way guys.

R2AY is the latest firmware available for the K700i. I used SEUS to update my phone to R2AE and I did not lose any of my settings. You have nothing to worry about.

Yep, a firmware update doesn't mean you loose programs installed on your phone.

Thanks, I've been toying around with it and indeed, the sw IS different. If by nothing else, you HAVE to notice it because of the huge boost in speed on the bluetooth transfers. Also, Splinter Cell and other games are also running much better.
Thing is, I DID read that post, and that's what worried me about my flash because the post says I'm supposed to show this:
ITP: CXC 125 813 R1T
And instead my phone displays:
ITP: CXC 125 813 R2E
And Since R2AE was the SW from which I upgraded, I thought it might not have been done properly or something.
