Well what a nightmare my P900 experience has been, it's a shame that those delightful souls at ACR (Formerly Hays) will not replace my handset because their attempts to fix my current one are not achieving much, despite the fact they claim that they have put a new board in the phone, yet I see that it still DOES NOT WORK RIGHT.

Have returned my P900 phone to their Postal Repair Centre for a second time last week after having problems with it restarting.

Came back Wendesday was fine for a few hours, now restarts around 50% of the time in a call. Did it so many times on Wednesday. Was fine all day Thursday (Bloody strange), was fine for all of this morning, and now it's started doing it again, has done it in 8 of the last 10 calls.

They say they have replaced the main board so the problem will not reoccur as it's now effecevely a new phone YEAH nice RIGHT. It tends to be much more likely to happen when battery is below 35%. But before you blame the battery, I've tried a known good battery from a friends phone, and it does exactly the same, and mine behaves fine in his.

I have had a long history of problems with this P900 (See Post below) I made a complaint to Sony Ericsson Thursday as their postal repair centre have not fixed the problem for the second time and I have been told to contact their postal repair centre to sort it out.

The Postal Repair centre wants to change the main board for a third time, despite the fact that having done this twice already, it has introduced a different problem every time.

I have asked the postal repair centre for a brand new handset, yet they will not oblige even though my product is still well within it's warranty period. They will just patch it up, send it out and we;ll have exactly the same problem again.

What do I do? It's like a vicicous circle, in the last couple of months my phone has spent more time being sent backwards and forwards to repair centres than it has with me. I'm not satisfied with the thing being patched up, sent out and breaking down again, and I want a replacement phone.

Surely it's not too much to ask? I knw they're not going to hand out new handsets to everyone, but I have had so many problems with this phone, that I think they should do it so I can actually use the damn thing? Who Do I go to next? Orange? Sony Ericsson? Repair Centre? What do I say? Cos I ain't getting very far.

Since receiving the phone in November I suffered a number of problems,
within the first few weeks of having the phone, the memory stick used in it
corrupted meaning I had to reformat it after losing all my data, after which
it was fine.

In around January, I copied some MP3’s to my phone which I listened to via
the included media player on the phones software, after this I checked they
copied correctly and played back correctly and they did, yet two days later
the MP3 files on the phone were corrupted and refused to play, but
everything else on the phone seemed fine.

During late February, I had another problem with the phone which meant every
time it started up, it kept saying “Restart. This phone will be restarted to
improve performance.” And it kept going in a continuous loop, I called Sony
Ericsson about this and they said it sounds like a software error so I
should reflash the software on the phone through the Sony Ericsson Online
update service, this then sorted the problem, although I lost all my data.

However, in May the “Restart, This phone will be restarted to improve
performance” error came back again, and Sony Ericsson told me to try the
recovery mode on the Sony Ericsson Online update service as this should
recover the phone if it’s unusable as I’ve used the service before. This did
not fix it

When I turedn the phone on, it simply rumbles, the screen flashes on, and
then off, and that’s all it will do. Sent it back to the repair centre and
they agreed it was faulty and replaced the main board.

I recieced it this morning. However after personalising the phone with my own settings, and I must stress, I did not install or copy anything to the device. I had the phone restart itself whilst in a call with the message "Restart: This phone has been restarted to improve performance".

And it has plenty of memory free and no other apps open when it does that, so it's not a memory issue despite the phone claiming it is.

Oh, and Orange WILL now replace it, but they want £100+VAT to do so plus want me to take out a 12 month care subscription, is that some kind of joke?
