Help needed pairing Akono HBH-300 with my K750i |

Hi there folks, I have used the search option to find out if anyone else has been experiencing problems pairing the Akono HBH-300 with the K750.
I have been a previous owner of the K700i, P800, T68i etc etc. My K750i will pair with no probs on my bro's T610, it will pair with my Belkin Bluetooth adpater, but it just doesn't seem to find the HBH-300.
I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. Hopefully someone on this beloved forum will be able to assist me...
Cheers,

Have you followed instructions,
pasted from SE FQA for the HBH-300
How do I set the headset in pairing mode?
1. Make sure that the headset is fully charged, switched on and within range of the phone. (Not more than 1 meter)
2. The first time you switch on your headset it immediately goes into pairing mode. The light flashes red and green. If so, please proceed to phone manual for instructions about pairing.
3. To manually set the Headset in paring mode press the VOLUME BUTTONS, (+) and (-), at the same time for approximately 5 seconds until your hear a long high frequent beep and the light flashes red and green. The headset is now in “Pairing mode”.
