Does your phone show the above or O2 as in the adverts ?
Can it be shortened to just O2.
I have a K750i on an O2 (or should i say O2 - UK) contract.

the reason for that is that virgin uses same frequenncees or something like that as t-mobile

Virgin is a virtual operator and uses t-mobile for its coverage. It still should say Virgin as it is a Virgin SIM card.

Heres a bit of info.

The Operator logo is down to the network programmed on your sim card and in the software in the phone.

Eg. Networks are always changing the name, disapearing or starting up.

However if you say you bought phone with the software updated then the network name or new names will change. (not if the sim card hasnt ben renewed or updated.

e.g I went to America with a old Motorola phone and placed my sim card in the phone the network name didnt display but the coding in the network eg 234-14. I knew however i was on the AT and T wireless. this was the phone was out before the network was working.

My t610 first time said At and T wirless. Old firmware. New firmware is At+T and cigular.
K700, used to say AT+T Cigular, New firmware and now it says Cingular.
K750 also now just says Cingular.

Vodafone changed to Vodafone - uk, like o2 - uk and t-mobile - uk, tomake it easier so when people when they came over to know that if they have vodafone at home they didnt think they would be chargeed internation roaming calls.
Orange in the uk is the only one to say Orange. Why, Orange came from the uk and all ther other Orange networks arround the globe have the prefix names. eg, Orange - xx (just llike the other uk networks)
Some of the old phones couldnt display the full name of the networks too. Vodafone was known on a lot of handsets as voda. Confusing this was. So now most i think all new handsets display the correct information of the netowrk.

So they you have it, hope it makes sense.

I think that its good that it shows also which country because i live in northern ireland and it is handy if i am near the border with ireland, it will change to 'o2 - IRL' and then i know for certain if i am roaming. I also think it looks better.
