Hi, I have been waiting patiently for my contract to run out so I can get a K750i to find I could do it now for £29....I read somewhere that the K750 was originally going to have a CCD but has a CMOS sensor in the camera but it is going to be a CCD at some point, anyone shed any light on this? Thanks J

Does it matter what sort of capture sensor it uses when we have amazing photo quality already with our k750's?? The S700 uses a ccd sensor and compare the k750 to s700 in terms of photo quality the k750 wins hands down in every environment.

I'd say they'll definitely stick with the CMOS sensor, unless they have serious issues. The camera quality on the K750i is sooooooooo good!

I think having a CCD on a mobile product (at least on a device which is not a dedicated camera) is not really necessary.

CMOS has a bad reputation because of silly cheap cameras around there but with special effort, it can produce brilliant results. Remember that CMOS sensors consume much less energy than CCDs, they also produce significantly less noise.

(And remember Canon d-Slr cameras which use CMOS technology. It's a good example to show CMOS sensors' potential)

vanquish: I'm also looking forward to get a Canon dSLR. And it's quite interesting, all of Canon dSLRs use CMOS.
Nothing beats a really big CMOS sensor.

Who knows, 5 years later maybe we will see people complaining because they want a CMOS sensor. AFAIK, CMOS has a brilliant future.

Yup just take the dive and go get you k750 you wont regret it, the photo quality is great, probably only second to the sharp 902, but still some stunning results.
