i all, I would like to check with those who had previously owned a SE K700i and now own a SE K750i.

do u find that the colour of the screen is not as rich as before. for example when u play the game real tennis, the colours of the screen seem a little faded. and also the caller picture (which was taken with a k700i) seem terrible too. Is the colour Yellow a little dull?

further more some of my personnel pictures on my k700i seem to be brighter and richer compared to the k750i. please help... I really hope and assume that its something to do with the settings

hey, I noticed that too! The screen has less contrast as the K700i. I just compaired it with the S700i and well... it is a bit disapointing quality if you compair it to those phones, you would expect more.
Everything was ugly, but your beautiful face.

yes the gamma/contrast setting on the K750 are different from K750.
much lighter, which will make the same graphics that look good on K700, look faded on K750.

I noticed that too. I transfered some Angelina Jolie pics on k750, wich I edited in Photoshop to be perfect on k700 fullscreen (and they were perfect on k700), and they are not rich in colors as the used to be on k700, and there are huge pixels all over the pics.... But I noticed that if you hold your phone under angle smaller than 90 degrees, pic is perfect. Try it.

I agree, the screen looks washed out and white. The k700i seemed to be better with less colours? I wonder if this can be corrected with further firmware updates. Lets hope so...

Washed out colors could be a delebarate design decision. Such displays make better allround performance, i.e. in the outdoor lights and sunlight, the display is more readable and works better.

The screen of K750 is not poorer than the K750, it just uses a different gammasetting, just like different computermonitors have different gammasettings. Graphics allways look different on different monitors.

This means when creating graphics for K750, themes etc., you need to work proffesionally and use colorprofiles in your graphics editor to emulate the screen of K750.

Doing this will ensure graphics look the way it was intended on K750, and thus better than on K700.

Having said that, I would have prefered they kept the gamma setting of the K700, would have made things easier for those creating graphic content and alot easier for the average user.

Well, its a litle difficult to give an exact answer, as it depends on the graphics editor you use. But I use Adobe Photoshop CS2, and in that you open the picture you want to work with, then select assign profile from the edit menu, and select a monitor profile that fits, should be a profile with gammasetting of approx 1.5.

When you do this you will see how the picture will actually look at the K750, then adjust levels, contrast, colors etc. to fit how you want it to look, select save for web and save the image as .jpg 80% quality.

It will now look rather dark in the normal windows preview because this does not use the colorprofile, but on the phone it will look close to the image you created in Photoshop because of the gammasetting of the K750 screen.

If you use another graphics editor you will need to figure out how to assign a coloprofile in that specific editor.
