Hey,

Iv had my phone for 10 days now and i accidently dropped it today on concrete and its got two minor scratches. And i want a new phone now lol

As iv got 3 months free insurance, i was thinkin of phoning '02' or where i purchased my contract and phone from and telling them that 'as i went to take out my phone to answer it, someone walked past and hit my arm/hand and it fell out of my hand. And eva since, my phone turns on and off wheneva it likes, so can i have a new one plz?'

Do u think this sounds good? Do u think they will giv me a new phone?

You want a new phone cos you SCRATCHED it? Catch a cab to realityville!

Live with it. It's going to get scratched or damaged through everyday use, it's like worrying about your car getting scratched - no matter how carefully you try, some moron's going to bash a shopping trolley into it! Look at this this way, it's now been scratched so you don't now have to be paranoid or overprotective with it, you can use it without having to worry about it getting scrached..... as it already is!

As long as it still works, who gives a toss, really?

Yep, left mine out of its case in my bag during a train journey - the camera cover got a dint in it.

Wouldn't dream of claiming on the insurance for superficial cosmetic damage!

My concern is that if many people did this mobile charges and the cost of buying handsets/upgrading them will go up for everyone....

I still say live with the scratches and don't be a fraudster, it's not the end of the world!

Run into the O2 shop screaming someone has just nicked my phone! Then run out, screaming, come back all flustered saying i managed to get it off him! but its all damaged. When you run out the shop go round the corner and hit it with something, mess up your hair then run back and ask for a new phone under insurance.

Most insurance policies cover accidental damage, so your perfectly within your rights to claim without having to lie.

i sent my k700 (o2) to get the joystick repaired, and they sent it back with a new front cover (which previously had a huge scratch across the screen) and new firmware at no charge!
they must have been feeling generous!

watch out though. even with o2 gold insurance they'll charge you a £25 excess...
