Can you use SEUS to debrand if the phone is unlocked? |

Hi,
I plan to buy a DSS-20 and use that with Semc-tool 2.2 to unlock my SE K700i from Vodafone. I'm wondering if I can then use the SEUS to debrand the phone, or will it still say that Vodafone don't allow it?
Thanks in advance. |

I can't say for sure because I've never tried it but I'm pretty certain that you still won't be able to use SEUS to debrand the phone because unlocking does not change the firmware, you will still have voda firmware on there which SEUS will not like.
I think they only way would be to use a third party site / software to debrand your phone with generic firmware first, then SEUS should work for future updates.

Okay thanks. Is there anywhere I can get old firmware files for free, and use the same program to flash them onto my phone, and then to later use SEUS to update? I really hate the stuff that Vodafone did to it. |

Suggest you search with:
"K700i CDA"
SEMC can change the cda, just modify a bit of the code |

Thanks,
One question though, search what? And I read that I could use recovery mode on the SEUS to just get a different firmware version without it having to look at my CDA. |

The idea behind both searching for a CDA and the recovery mode trick is to fool SEUS into sticking a generic firmware on your phone regardless of the firmware that you currently have. Both of these could quite possibly work, as I said I've never tried it, but personally I'd be too scared of something going wrong to even try it. At the end of the day you're trying to do something that you're not meant to do, so if something does go wrong, nobody's going to have any sympathy, let alone help you sort out the mess for free
Better to search google for one of the tried and tested SE online unlocking / debranding services, or if you're able to, take your phone to somewhere that can debrand your phone safely. In the UK, there's usually market stalls not a million miles away that can do it, some mobile phone shops are also able to do it although in my experience, they're few and far between. There's a guy on Esato, his name escapes me at the moment, who offers a postal debranding service and he has very good feedback. I'm sure someone will post a link to him or if not, I'll dig it out for you
