Hi all
Getting married on October 8th - hooray! - to Nicole (she's lovely).
We are honeymooning in Singapore and then onto Bali. Due to the need to be intouch with work, I need a phone that will work out there. I have to replace my current phone anyway and was thinking of getting the SPV 500 on Orange when it comes out - BUT this is tri-band. Will it work out there or do I need a quad band phone?
If it won't work can anyone suggest a really cheap quad band phone that I can use for the trip and then discard after?
P.S very excited about it (....the spv500, that is...honeymoon should be good as well). |

All the best with your wedding!!!
Hope it's a sunny day!
Most modern motorolas are quadband, like the V600 or V620
Although isnt Bali tri? Im not sure.

as a very regular traveller through singapore and occassional to Bali I can tell you that you will have no problem using any phone you currently have and there is no need to buy a new phone, as much as you might want the SPV

Congratulations. A normal 900/1800 dualband phone can fully meet your needs there.

Congratulations... but you need a phone to be in touch with work, during your honeymoon?
Wow!!! Either you are the boss or the boss is an a-hole! hahahaha!
Don't forget to leave the charger for the phone.... at home...........

Fortunately, (and unfortunatley on many occassions), I am the boss.
-Promised Nicole that I wouldn't take the laptop (which is a big deal for me as have never gone away before without being properly in touch with the office). Fortunately, she has no idea that mobiles now can do a lot of the work of pc's!
-So, almost certain that my next phone will be the Treo 650 ...as its the only small handset that supports Word, Excel and Powerpoint + supports Line 2 (which I definitely need). Gutted that the SPV M500 doesn't. ....unless, any of you guys have any other suggestions?!

But it seems Treo does not support Fax.
