Today I was browsing SE webpage and I found this here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]01&template=ps1&zone=ps&lm=ps1
It says about downloading language packs. Is it possible to do that? Because as fas as I knew, you could get the software upgraded, but you would get stuck with the original language pack.
Is it possible now to do a language pack change without going to an SE center? |

There seems to be no information about downloading the language packs though. |

Just got off the phone with the SE rep and as always, nothing good. He did not know anything about the language packs and told me that I wasn't able to download the language pack because they have been updating their website for a few days now and it will keep updating for a few more days. |

with smartphones like the P-series you can change language packs by downloading new ones for the symbian UIQ OS.
but otherwise they are built into the firmware of "regular" mobiles and you can't do it without changing the firmware. |

When we say language pack, we mean the whole software of the phone in the particular language.
For P-seriers it is called "download language" feature.
I sent and e-mail to SE to see what is going on?
Anybody tried to do an online upgrade recently (K750i particularly) to see if it gave the option of installing another language? |

I used the SEUS (last weekend) to update my K750i to R2L, but I never had any new options. It was exactly the same as it always has been. |

I emailed Sony Ericsson and I just got their answer which is as follows:
"The web site actually remembers the last product you choose, and the options that are the page you mentioned are basic overall features that cover each and every model of Sony Ericsson cell phone from our website. Currently the K750i does not have the " language packs" available, It is more for PDA style phones such as the P910 series. The update service is again different from language packs and doing an update from our site will not change the language of the phone, unless it was previously a Chinese varient for example, that was changed to English, in cases such as that, it would change it back to default which was Chinese." |

I dont think SEUS changes the language pack beack to Chinese if the phone originally was a Chinese version. I have a K700i which was originally bought from Hong Kong with the Chinese Language pack. I converted it to the US_1 language pack using da vinci and I tried SEUS last night to see if the language pack could be changed. The update went fine but SEUS retained the US_1 language pack that I had on the phone and it did not give me any further options to change to a different lamguage pack. |
