Right; For info!
If your 3G phone runs out of juice the SIM can be used in other phones.
I just tried it for the exact reason.

You can use a 3G sim in a 2G phone except on 3UK as they block it to prevent people roaming on O2s 2G network because it costs them more money. |

A generic or unlocked/branded phone should work on ANY network. Thatīs one of the major points of buying generic/vs Locked/branded phone IMO
EDIT: Make that THE point...
The much nicer user interface and ability to use the phone to itīs true potential is the other point.

Does anybody know out there if I can use my sim card for the '3' provider in my Sony Ericson P910?
Does software exist to unblock?

I use the SIM I got with my V800 in a P800 from time to time... I've never experienced any troubles with that.
I also used a 2.5G sim (from previous contract) in the V800 for a number of months without much trouble.
I don't see the problem here??

Vodafone, gsm/3g operator keep taking old gsm sim/algo for subscriber identification in their network. So both gsm and 3g (dual mode) handsets can be used. 3, 3g network only. introduced usim only capable with 3g handsets.

Yes, you can use a 3UK SIM in a non 3 3G phone. But you can NOT use a 3UK SIM in a non 3G phone.
I have an unbranded V800 and have successfully used a 3UK SIM in it. |
