I was always told to drain my battery completely before recharging. Is this still necessary with modern batteries, T610/k700i?

Not really necasary with LI-Ion batteries. Its always worth discharging them every so often though.

In the last period of time is more and more asserted that draining the battery completly would hurt it ..so charge it as often as possible.U wont harm it.

Its enough to rain the batt every 2nd month, no need to do it every single time.

i always charge my phone when it's nearly dead.. i've done this from the start.. and now my k700i battery lasts me around 5-6 days

I heard that you should drain the battery all the way down and fully charge it (it resets the smart built-in circuit); that will prolonge the life of the battery... there is a detailed discussion about lithium-ion battery technology in this forum! check it out...

Li ion and li pol batts dont like to be discharged very often. However, the batt performance depends on fw aswell, u should charge the batt always the same way, to get the best out of it.
