Not sure about your provider O2, but as long as you have port 80 access, then it should work. Make sure SSL encryption is set for both pop & smtp, NOT apop. Also make sure your using smtp port 25, and gmail has been setup in settings on gmail.com for pop3 accesss. Only then will it work.
