No, not with wifi. You will have to buy a usb bluetooth dongle, if the laptop doesnt have builtin bluetooth.

I use Belkin personally. Never had troubles with it - even after dropping it and cracking the casing and bending the USB connector. Cheap too.
Is this a dream or a memory?

You probably have Windows XP SP2. Go to Microsoft support website and search for instructions to disable native Bluetooth Support on XP Sp2.

The purpose of de-activating SP2's native BT support is that it basically doesn't work very well!

Many people find that in order to get the full set of BT functions to work reliably, they need to use the BT drivers that come with their BT devices and the software that comes with the mobile device rather than the M$ BT drivers.

As for what else you can do with BT, sorry if you've already mentioned it but you could download 'Floats Mobile Agent' (free software). This is an enhanced file browser that allows you to transfer files to and from your phone directly, manage contacts and SMS messages etc. Type it into google, it comes up top of the list

FMA is in constant developement and so it's not guaranteed to work fully (or even at all) with your phone. But if it doesn't, it will do one day, so it's well worth giving it a try and keeping an eye on it.
