K750i USB connection not working |

Having not found this issue here, I'm posting my problem.
Set-up:
- Sony Ericsson K750i
- Windows XP SP1
- Sync Station software
Now that I finally have my K750i, I'de like to connect it to my pc to see all the nice pictures I've taken. For this I followed the manual which is on Sony Ericsson's Support website:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]1&pid=10242&fid=13194&esi=true
http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]GSG_Synchronization_R1a_EN.pdf
These are the steps I took:
1) Uninstalled all SE T610 software (XTND Connect, Mobile Phone Monitor)
2) Installed Sync Station from the installation CD
3) Hooked up my K750i via USB.
4) Windows detected the phone and started installing several drivers, however it was not able to find a driver for: "Sony Erics Memory Stick". I downloaded the latest driver pack from the SE Support site, but no driver was found in there either.
From now on everything should work, but it doesn't.
- When I connect my phone, nothing happens
- The Sony Ericsson File Manager says "Not Connected"
- Synchronising with Sync Station is not available (all "greyed out", including the settings)
Can anyone help me out? |

sync station uses mobile phone monitor - is mobile phone monitor set to the com port for the usb connection (as specified in ports within device manager)? |

Thank you for your quick reply!
Yes, I checked that. The Mobile Phone Monitor has COM Port 19 enabled & reserved. This is the same port as listed in the Device Manager... wait a minute, now it's gone. I'm sure two ports (18 & 19) were listed there before! |

mpm is a bit of a dog to set up. But you say ports 18 and 19, that sounds like the bluetooth ports. Usually there will only be one usb port, and the number is also usually lower (but not necessarily) |

I do have an MSI Bluetooth dongle connected to my pc. I used that for synchronisation of my SE T610. In the Device Manager a total of 8 COM Ports are reserved for Bluetooth. Maybe I should install that software?
Also, do you think the failure to install a Memory Stick driver is related? |

Update: after uninstalling the bluetooth software and re-installing the Sync Station software, synchronisation now works!
Leaves the problem of the Memory Stick driver. Without it I cannot access the Memory Stick via the USB cable. Anybody any ideas? I've searched Microsoft.com and Memorystick.com, but no succes. |

My K750i would not connect with the software off the CD.So I uninstalled the software and downloaded the drivers off the SE website where it did work.

do you have a PDA?
i've been having similar problems, and i notice that on the rare occasions when it will connect to my k750i (usually when i restart with the phone attached) that the synchronisation on my palm tungsten e pda won't work.
it follows that maybe only one will work at a time, and the default setting seems to be the PDA!
what the solution is, i dunno, but if this is a clue for anone more knowledgable, then i'm glad. |
