Hi,

does anyone know how to de-instal these drivers as they didn't intsall as i didn't have them on the computer, however the pc thinks that they did install and are working so whenever i plug USB cable in while holding down the C key, it doesn't think that there is a new device plugged in, so it doesn't ask to install the proper ones.

I have looked in the hardware list where it shows everything plugged into PC but can only see stuff like the modem and obex drivers.
Can anyone help, i am on XP SP2
thanks

You cannot deinstall them if they were not installed in the first place.

You need to get the computer to understand that new hardware is attached and install the drivers.

Try this:

Attach usb cable to computer but not to phone
Open devicemanager where you see all the hardware installed
With devicemanager open and holding down the c-button on the phone attach the usb cable (keep holding down the c-button or the phone will turn on)
Look in devicemanager for a device with a yellow question mark which should now pop up, and select to update driver for that device, then point to where you have the usb update driver.

If the phone is connected to an XP/2000 PC the PC will, by default, attempt to open a drive you attach. While you have it "connected" the phone cannot use it so you can only use the memory card from the phone or the PC, not both at the same time. The phone does not show the mp3 folder - the contents are shown under "sounds" - the file type determines where the phone shows them, not the folder on the memory card.
-------------------

To open device manager showing everything create a batch file containing:

@ECHO OFF
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
c:
cd%SystemRoot%System32
start devmgmt.msc
exit

then run it. This brings up device manager. Go to the view menu and click 'show hidden devices' - you will now see everything - including the flash drive and all the K750 devices. You can either do the update device process already described or delete them, plug the phone in again and let everything be redetected - this time have the device drivers ready !

The devices are:

Modems:
Sony Ericsson 750 IrDA Modem
Sony Ericsson USB WMC Data Modem
Sony Ericsson 750 USB WMC Modem
Ports:
Sony Ericsson 750 USB WMC Device Management
Sony Ericsson 750 USB WMC OBEX Interface
USB:
Sony Ericsson 750
USB Flash (this is the one for the update service)

I am having the same problem. However, followed the above instructions, I'm able to uninstall the 'USB Flash' device from my system.

After restarting my PC, & reconnecting my phone to it, The unknown device detected appears. Now please advise me on where do I get this USB flash driver? I have tried the PC suite CD that comes with my phone, but Windows could not find the file required.

Yes.. I'd managed to find the USB update service driver at SE's support site. Finally, firmware update is working.
