K700 to K750i or on to nokia? |

I have the K700 and it has been great but the joystich has finally given up and i am due for an upgrade. For me i think it is a choice between SE K750 or a complete change to the 6680. Now I like my gadgets and was wondering apart from the 2mp camera whether there is anything new on the K750 or if it would be better to explore the wonders of Symbian UI (although it always seems a bit slow).
Any input would be appreciated. |

I just came from nokia 3650 and then a 7610 to a SE k750i. I could go on and on with pros and cons but I'll just sum it up here: the k750 does everything I really used symbian for, and it does it faster and in a more stable way. I also enjoy the quality of the sound and OS more than the nokia. The camera is worlds better. Not just resolution but also color and clarity within the full size picture.
Glad I went to SE. |

Sounds like tzakiel has summed things up pretty well.
Unless symbian is a real requirement for you then I can't see any pros in going down the Nokia route, if it's the look of the phone that you like then fine, (sometimes thats enough). The UI is a joy to use and with the tweaks made to the K750 even better than the K700, so it does everything most of us would need from a phone very well and of course with it's the 2mp camera, there's not really anything to match it at present.

I must admit i had my reservations about upgrading from the K700i to the K750i but i dont regret it at all.Great pictures, loads and loads of memory, faster software, clearer screen, better sound, and great looking.I dont know much about the nokia but you wont regret the SE. |

since this forum is dedicated to users, so you shouldn't expect any advice about nokia phones here. but if you really don't need the expandability of symbian os then k750 rules. not because i love and hate most nokia phones but just because it has everything a normal symbian user needs but better and faster.

We are not all biased towards , yeh sure this is a forum for phones, but nevertheless, I think you will find a lot of users here will give credit where credit is due mate.
At the end of the day, it's down to personal choice and personal needs, unless something else appears on the market when I upgrade, I will have a K750, simply because my K700 has done a good job, and with the improvements the new model has makes it an obvious choice for me.

You might then want to consider the z800i
 t610 > k700i > p800 > p900 > p910 > k750i > I-mate Jam > Blokia 6681 > HTC Prophet > HTC Wizard & Nokia N73 > E71 > BB 9000 > HTC Desire > Samsung Galaxy S > Samsung Galaxy S II & the Motorola Xoom <br /> Still Shiny but not so n |

Here's my 2 cents....
I've got both the K750i and the Nokia 6680 which I got cheaply on upgrade. I used the 6680 for a few weeks while I waited for my replacement K750i beacuse I sent the first one back due to crashing problems.
The 6680 is a fine phone. It's very good at what it does, and the Symbian OS was interesting to play around with for a few weeks and see what applications there are out there to enhance the phone. The 3G thing, was a non-event really. Just faster WAP basically, which costs a fortune to use. I found the cost of 3G to be prohibitive, and just really not worth it.
I got my K750i back again last week, and the Nokia has been resigned to the shelf to gather dust. It's smaller, sleeker, easier to use, and just a better phone in every aspect, bar the fact it doesn't run the Symbian OS.
The K750i will be my phone of choice for the foreseeable future, and I'll just use the 6680 as a back up phone. |

I like my gadgets, i have heard all the raves about the K750 but it dosent seem to bring much new to the table, i could be wrong.
I was tempted by the z800 when it was the v800 but wasn't sure if it was true beauty, or really ugly.

I think the real question you need to ask yourself is whether you are going to really use the flexibility of Symbian, or whether you would be better off with a non-smartphone which is smaller, faster and has a better camera.
I have the K750i and love it

i agree, but as a user that has tested most of current avail phones in the market i can tell you that if someone works for awhile with phones (s)he will get rid of other brands quickly. not because it's too powerful but just for its easiness, user friendly interface, customizable options and so on. (i was a siemens user and nokia fan before using my first SE phone - T610 - but after that, i bought K700i and i can't compare it with all of my previous phones. the only one that i loved was SX1 - its design is something like a trouble but it beats most nokia smartphones produced in a same date)
new nokia phones are mostly based on symbian os, so nokia programmers never work on new stuff at all. only some hardware will be optimized when a new model comes to stores such as camera, internal memory and screen resolution and also the design.
but if we compare products, we can easily find new and amazing features in every new model. a good example here is the difference between K700 and K750 (as you already mentioned).
even if we compare SE smartphones with nokia we can't imagine the differences between P-series (even the old P800) and nokia smartphones.

Great post Sean
I use the 6680 now and have used it in several weeks and all I want to do is to get hold of a K750 or atleast get my K700 back.
Sure, watching TV was cool two or three times. Tried to find stuff on wap where I could have use of 3G, but couldnīt find anything where I did have any huge advantage.
Sony Ericssonīs OS is so much faster and easier. Symbian donīt even have auto keylock (one of hundreds things that annoys me) |

@bard108, since K700 and K750 are in a same class they are quite similar to each other but with appreciable improvements in both the hardware and software (as i said above).
so if you like to buy a new phone with completely new design and features, i suggest you buy the nokia phone but if you would like to buy a phone with smaller size and a familiar ui then i highly recommend you buy K750. also if the size and weight doesn't matter for you, take a look at S700 too.
to get more information about these models, use the well known website Mobile-Review.com.
Edit: @Marcus_129, thanks for your comments.
have a good choice,
Sean

This kind of supprised me, i know this is mainly an SE forum but i would have thought the possibilities of symbian would have swayed it, i think i have been shown the right path of the k750, just one thing which bugged me about the K700 software which i hope they have changed; When searching through contacts can you search with more than one letter. Is the arrival of PTT putting anyone of SE phones, they seem to be very late adopters at the mo.
Can you change the message tone on this one or is still to the presets?
