hi, when trying to install the USB thing you need before you can update your phone with the new firmware, im having a few problems. I download the file, but when it comes to unzipping the file to a temporary folder, i cant do it. It just opens up a notebad with loads of cr*p in it. I presume this is the reason why i cant install the new firmware, as when i turn off the phone for 20 secs, hold c, and plug it into the USB, nothing happens. Somebody help before I put my heel through the screen of this nice looking phone....

Sounds like your file associations are messed up. Before you double click the file to unzip it, right click on it and select 'properties'. If the 'open with' program is set to notepad or wordpad, click on the 'change' button and set it to your default archiving program (winzip etc.)

Another possibility is that the archive might need a specific program to open it, such as winrar. If this is the case, you'll need to get on google and download whatever program you need.

Not had that prob myself using winzip. But, when i come to install the usb driver which is specifically used for firmware upgrades, it will not overwrite the default driver which came on the se cd - consequently cannot do firmware upgrade.

Use link http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]_Update_Service_USB_driver.zip
