"My P910i" Icon - Browsing via BT |

Greetings all. Happy 4th!
I have had a P910i for about five months now... great phone... absolutely love it!
I am able to connect my phone via BT and use the sync software that came with it as well as connect to the internet through GPRS (as I am right now). What I am unable to do is browse the phones memory and drag and drop files by clicking on the "My P910i" icon that the software placed on my desktop.
When I click on it it says "Not connected." and shows a questionmark icon in the window where I would imagine it should show my P910i's directory structure.
Any and all help anyone could offer I would be most thankful for!
Thanks,
HL |

I apologize. I forgot to mention that my computer is an IBM ThinkPad (2373-P1U) that has bluetooth built in.
Peace!

I shall politely ignore the 'Happy 4th' comment.
There are a few things I can suggest you try:
Check to see, wich COM Port has been delegated for use as a serial connection between your PC and P910.
Make sure that this COM Port is enabled and is selected in the Phone Monitor (right click the icon in the system tray and select 'Properties'). Also make sure that nothing else is using that COM Port.
Initiate a serial connection and hopefully all should be well.
Alternatively you might want to consider using fma instead of the SE software. Just Google 'float's mobile agent'.

No it does not
Scot: Thanks for the tips... sadly, I have tried all that stuff. It it odd though that sync and BT DUN works but not the OBEX File Transfer.... don't you think? Could an invalid serial port only screw up the file transfer part of the connection? |

@Highline
I could be wrong about this, but I don't think OBEX file transfers and the phone browser software are one and same in terms of functionality.
Have you tried using a different Bluetooth driver?

I have tried installing IBM's thinkpad driver update... but sadly it hung my entire BT on my laptop.... so I dont want to try and do that again
I think that you are onto something thought. It probably is the driver that is keeping it from working correctly.
It just sucks moving MP3's via infrared. Oh, funny enough, I can install software with the SE program installer... via BT.

@Highline
Have you tried using the generic Windows driver that comes with XP SP2?
