Me and a friend both have the 'Sony Ericsson T68i' and have been transfering data through IrDA because we cannot get bluetooth to work. We get asfar as to where u have to enter a passkey... Wat passkey?? According to the manual if u do not have a passkey then u should make one up... well we tried that and it still dont work we just get bombarded with error's.

Can any1 help us?

Thx

Passkey ??? You're right, what passkey ??? You may be doing something wrong. I am not sure about conflicts since you are both using T68i. But just to be sure, Follow the following procedures:

Go to CONNECT then select BLUETOOTH
Go to OPTIONS then select PHONE NAME then EDIT
Enter a different but distinct PHONE NAME for each phone
Go back to BLUETOOTH options and select DISCOVER in one phone. On the other phone, select DISCOVERABLE.

Going through this procedure should get your two phones connected via bluetooth and should now be able to transfer information from one phone to another.

Cheers

Blue tooth is not very hard to get hang of. When you get to the bit where a pass key is required just enter any number and make sure your friend enters the identical number as yourself. Then you are

I've been using a T68i with a Mac with bluetooth. As I've found out, a passkey is a code you enter on BOTH devices so that they can connect to each other. It's a security feature to protect your privacy.

Without the passkey, anyone with a computer can just connect to your phone once its discoverable and download (or worse, erase) your phone.

The passkey is entered only once. You can save the pairing information and don't have to re-enter the passkey for a specific pair.
