why do some mp3s work on the blue tooth and some not? (k700i) |

er... yeah, the title says it all.
basically, both mp3s were downloaded off the net. one mp3 straight from a cd, the other mp3 a clip from some 80's cartoon, though good quality still.
whilst uploading both files on the bluetooth, it was the 80's cartoon clip that was the only one that worked whilst the other, you could play but couldn't hear anything.
so, they're both mp3s but what i don't understand is, why one worked and the other didn't. the 80's cartoon clip is about 1mb. the mp3 grabbed from the cd was 5mb. i doubt is the reason though.
anyone englighten me?
oh, and for the record, i'm not asking how to get mp3s working as a ringtone. i already read the above thread. it's working. it's the blue tooth thing with the k700i phone that i can't figure.
thanks

very, very, very, very positive it's not wma or wav. for you, i even went into properties again just to double check.
also, the 80's cartoon clip mp3 wasn't even encoded into a dm file.

a dm file is usually copyright protected, so maybe that's why it won't play properly?
Another possibility is that the mp3 that doesn't work is encoded with an encoder that isn't compatible with K700. It may be a variable bit rate mp3 for example, I don't think they will play on the K700.
It's got nothing to do with bluetooth. Bluetooth has no affect on the data in files transferred using bluetooth.

i have a feeling it has something to do with the bitrate aswell, upon further inspection.
i don't suppose you know what the bitrate limit is for the phone to play it?
oh, sorry, it's a k750i i have, not the k700i. |

I've done 64, 96 and 128Kbps with no problem. Some codecs haven't worked. I personally use aac for music (it has a smaller file size for the same quality), and K700 and K750 can play AAC no worries.
With the K750 you have exandable memory so small file size is not so important. If you're gonna stick with mp3, try some different bitrates (try 128 first), and try some different mp3 codecs. |

128 isn't working for me. the mp3s are full length tracks (so about 5mins as average music lengths go)
do you know where i can aquire aac encoder? specifically the full name of the encoder, blah, blah, blah if you don't have a link. |

I think there's some prob. with your firmware or something coz I'm playing 256kbps CBR full length tracks (about 9MB) perfectly in my K700i, so you too must be able to play those-

i can play them if i use the drm packager thing but what i can't do is set them as ringtones. i can set some of them as ringtones depending on the bitrate.
ah, again, where can i find this aac codec?
oh, does someone know how i can get the 3gp vids to work on this? now i wanna set a normal avi movie into my phone. what i did was download imtoo 3gp converter thingy and it does what it's supposed to do. it converts the avi files into 3gp files. then i use the drm packager thing and convert it into a dm file and it still can't play them. this is poo man.
does anyone know where i can full versions of games?
i'm with vodafone and they're really trying to cash in on everything by making you pay for everything on their vodafone live site. that's poo man. |

you can try using a software that changes the bitrate of your MP3s, so that they would be compatible with your phone... in my case, i changed the bitrates of my MP3s from 128mbps (CD quality) to 64mbps (radio quality); you may sacrifice quality in the process but in effect, you have a "decent" MP3 with less file size...
