Well, I did a quick search in Google Australia, and this is what I came up with:

Basically, the Salvation Army seems pretty good at tracking people down - 75% success rate. Have a read I guess and see if it suits.

thanks so much for that, and if thats the only way, i will resort to doing that but it involves telling my girlfriend which would spoil the whole suprise of handing her a number and saying, if you ever want to, you can 
she hinted a while back so i was hoping to do this, but its really hard..... think i might have to just my 'window selling voice' and phone all these numbers.... jsut worried coz im from the uk that he'll soemhow click and everythign will be buggered..... hmmmmmm
i just dont know how to go about this eeeeeeeeeek!

Well, how are you going to go about calling these random numbers? What sort of questions would you ask?
I mean, you can't just call people and expect them to tell you anything you want on the phone - I don't know what else you can do to narrow it down easily.

if i knew the answers to those questions i wouldnt be asking on esato heehe, but i dont know. its a tough one aint it!? I know enough information on the person in question to be able to narrow it down, i guess im just holding back becasue i dont wanna blow it..... hmmmmm |

Well, how's it going?
I reckon you should just tell your girlfriend that you'd need her help. It's very difficult to track people down, and you'll need all the help you can get. It's a noble thing trying to track her brother or her but you can't always do it yourself.

thx, as it goes, i did tell her last ngiht, she was chuffed and happy that i told her before phoning, now i guess she can try these numbers, my only fear is that he may not be any of these numbers... ohwell, time will tell i guess and this means now we can try that site you reccommended

very sad about heath, grew up in the same area as him. i know his uncle quite well and the whole family said it was an unexpected and tragic loss.
