First I`d like to say hello to everyone. I`ve been a silent lurker here for 2 years
yesterday my 610 locked up. This has happened a number of times before, but this time it didnt help to remove battery and/or SIM card. It seems that it responds to power on/off button, but no other buttons will cause any action. It boots up and shows one new message and correct time, but doesnt respond to anything...
Any advice? It seems to me that it must be some kind of hardware malfunction in the reading of buttons, but I don't know. Any help appreciated!
regards

It looks like sw problem to me. If you can flash it yourself (if you have cable and phone sw). If not take it to the service.

First, try a master reset, but this will wipe out your phone book, themes, pictures, custom ringtones, etc. so back them up before the reset. |

A visit to the service centre via the shop where I bought it from solved exactly the same problem with my T610
It came back with a newer firmware version, so it's more than likely a software problem as everyone has already suggested.

And the bloody shop demanded 400 norwegian kroner (approx $50) for updating the firmware! I would have to go to the national service centre, located far from the city and claim warranty as the phone is more than 1 year to get a free upgrade.
Cursing SE for giving their shops this easy opportunity to rip off their customers...
