Who is currently on Cingular using a K750? |

I was curious as to how many people are on Cingular using a K750.
Knowing that Cingular is converting mostly to 850 Mhz, I am interested in knowing your reception feedback. (Signal, areas of usage, ect...)
The K750 and the W800 are both 1900. The W800 will be available to the U.S. soon.

I have Cingular with my K750i, and to tell you the truth, I'm not very happy with it. I'm going to try to switch back over to T-Mobile very soon. I live in Southern California (Orange County). I get dropped calls and low bars all the time. |

Like I told you earlier, I have Cingular and I was using my K700i until the 3rd week of May when I got my K750i. I live in the Boston area and both my phones work great. Your reception is always different at different parts of the nation and it depends on the buildings too. There are some areas in my workplace that I dont get reception, but its just that building. I would suggest you borrow a non 850 MHz handset from someone and check it out at your primary location of use. |

Thanks for the feedback
I have a S710 / Bandwith 850/1800/1900.
I was wondering how a K750 or a W800 would handle on 1900 Mhz
Below is the reason why I am asking. ( Please read and share your experiences ).
Apparently it seems they are leaning towards the 850 due to the signal strenght. Below is a cut and paste directly from their website.
Expanding Network Reach and Quality
During the last 12 months, we have added or improved 15,000 cell sites, including those added through roaming agreements in major cities with Cingular Wireless and other GSM carriers. We have more than doubled our national GSM/GPRS coverage area so that it is now includes approximately 1.2 million square miles in the United States.* In addition to expanding our network reach, we continue to aggressively improve the quality of our GSM network. In many major markets, we have installed hardware and software to improve our customers' wireless usage experiences. The new hardware and software allow callers with compatible GSM/GPRS devices to use the 850-megahertz band of the radio spectrum, which generates a stronger signal than the 1900-megahertz band, travels over larger areas and penetrates walls better. Overall, these network enhancements will improve call quality across the nation. As a result of this upgrade, signal strength has improved, even in buildings. Secure wireless access†
Cingular employs sophisticated authentication and data encryption features to enhance:
Protection of User Identities
Protection of IP Addresses
Protection of data transmitted
Device Options
One of the advantages of using the global GSM standard is that Cingular offers more flexible device options including:
BlackBerry® Handhelds
PocketPC
Smartphones
palmOne™
PC Card Modems
Specialized devices
*Our network includes areas we own and operate and areas owned and/or operated by other carriers. Coverage is double the national GSM/GPRS coverage area that was available last year. Compatible device with 850 MHz required to take full advantage of improvements.
† Secure wireless access refers to the authentication and encryption features available on the Cingular network, including Network Access Authentication, GPRS Ciphering, and GPRS Encryption Algorithm.

Hmmm... I can do that.... 18% corporate discount, also grandfathered into internet service that provides unlimlimited usage. Other perks, due to my employers discount.

It's not cingular, it's the phone. You switch to t-mo and you will still get bad reception. I'm experiencing the same reception problem with this phone.

The k750 is a great phone and it will work just like any other single US band phone in the states. Only downside to it is that it gets poor reception. I'm happy with mine regardless of that because even with not as many bars of coverage, I have only dropped one call since I first got the phone. |
