As above - can this be done - take an 02 number 0773 to "3"? Has anyone done this sucessfully?

Call o2 ask for your PAC code, they should give it to you.
Call 3 and tell them you want to port that number to your 3 contract and give them your PAC code and they should do it for you.

i am sure it would be possible i mean it is just a number isnt and whether it is gsm or 3g wouldnt matter because that is on the actual simcard aint it

yeh course you can I dont see why not - when I asked o2 for my pac code because I wanted to transfer to 3, they didnt say I couldn't (I didn't end up transferring in the end due to o2 offering me a decent contract when threatening to leave)
