Well, SE is also one of the more expensive brands. Sure, Nokia has more expensive phones... but a bulk of their sales comes from their crappy low-end junk.
SE on the other hand makes more from their business-line and P-series...which aren't exactly cheap.
Even during the Ericsson days... the GF788/GH688, R520m/T39m, and the legendary T68 were the most popular models in the line-up... and these were the mid-range -> high end models. Nokia always made money from their 3xxx/5xxx models...with a few 8xxx/9xxx being sold just as flagship models.
When SE was formed, the T68m was still their biggest earning model over the T200/300 "affordable" line. No one wanted the low-end SE. Ericsson/SE was always about the technology and prestige.
So even now... the SE models to have are the P-series, Z800 and the K750...all of which are the most expensive phones in their line-up. These translate to lower market share... but higher 'desirability'

The ratio of frequency of adds of other models to SE is 80:20 . Sales and attraction are different issues.

these poll results could also mean that fans are simply more internet aware than other mobile owners. Someone who thinks very highly of their Moto may have never thought to look for info on it online, let alone vote on it.

haha probably. if people have the interest in mobile phones and makes them go to the internet to look more into the topic, maybe the realize that SE's really are really good compared to other brands and are converted by forums like this

or simply most of visitors of the site are se-fans. (guess what would be the result here :-). but i've seen different situation, our biggest site in state is nokia-biased). if you conduct survey with the right statistic sample, you can prove anything you want. i.e. if you asked only the girls 16-24 years old you'd get 50 percent of samsung, 30 nokia, 15 se. that's why i like statistics.
