My taskbar has stopped responding!!! Whenever i log in the task bar freezes! I am using win xp pro plz help thanx in advance

Have you done a cntrl alt del? see if there is anything unusual there.

Do u have enough memory, also run anti virus program, check msconfig to see whats there in startup, check all these unplugging ur network/net cable. Get antivirus from bitdifender.com if u want

I have 128 Mb RAM so they must be no memory issue will try the antivirus thanx

If you are using win xp pro then you could have a memory problem as 128mb is the minimum for pro to work.

Does the taskbar work ok in safe mode? If it does, go into safe mode, click start, run, type in sfc /scannow

have a windows XP pro disk handy since you might be asked for it

Failing that, boot from your xp pro disk and try a repair reinstall. DO NOT USE THE REPAIR CONSOLE, proceed as if you were going to do a fresh install and wait until you are given the opportunity to repair the current windows installation. You will need your product key.

If it gets to the part where it wants to format your hard drive, press f3 to exit, it means that a repair reinstall is not possible in thos case.
