Debranding is when you flash a fone to get rid of all network branding such as start-up logos pics etc and make the software like that of a sim free phone |

operators get different FW for their phone's that includes network specific logos, features, etc. Mfg. know which IMEI numbers and CDA numbers are sold to operators. Unbranding is loading a different/generic/unbranded version of the FW on the phone that includes a different CDA number. This CDA number can identify a branded und unbranded phone.
