I just received my K750 3 days ago (6/21) and so far the reception has been horrible!! I only signed up with T-Mobile a week ago (6/17) and bought a used phone because I wanted to see what coverage was like in my area before I purchased a more expensive phone. So far, T-Mobile's service has been okay in my area, but like Verizon (who I'm also still with) their phone selection is lacking.

(I'm in Northern Maryland about 5 miles from the PA border in Carroll County)

The used phone I bought was a Samsung SGH-r225. That phone consistenly had 5-6 bars of strength (mostly 5 bars) so naturally I thought the K750 would be just at least as good if not better -- seeing as how it was newer with better technology. My K750 only keeps 1-2 bars but both phones support GSM 1900. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I have a defective phone. Sony told me to ship it to their repair center in NC where they will have the phone for about 2-3 weeks and will repair it. I REALLY don't want to do this but it will either be that or selling it.

Just wondering if anyone else has faced the same problem with their K750 and how they fixed it?

phones tend to be conservative when reporting signal strength. Also the bars fluctuate more because it polls the strength in more real time. As long as your calls are going through you should be fine. Anyway you usually have 7 days to return the phone to the seller.

I live in a "concrete" apartment where the reception always is bad, regardless of brand of phone. With K750i I'm for the first time able to sit inside my apartment using my phone. In other words I experience the opposite.....

I can't return my phone because I didn't buy it from T-mobile -- it's unsupported. The place where I bought it you can't return once it's opened. I'll just do as Sony said and send it to their repair shop in North Carolina. I'm convinced it's the phone as I've tried the sim card in several other phones and they all had strong signals.

Well they go through okay they just don't stay connected all the time. I've had 4 dropped calls in one night and after that I stopped using it.

I highly doubt a repair center would help. try another SE phone in your house. I have noticed SE phones get slightly worse reception on tmobile than nokias

I have 2 T616'sand a S710. Great phones.

One of my T616's has always had two bars less than the other, no matter where I am in the house. While this is not a major issue in terms of reception, it has always bothered me, that one has a weaker signal than the other. My S710 always has all bars showing. Go figure...... I guess it depends on the phone.
