So you can't use a bluetooth headset with the 7650?! That's like the most important feature in Bluetooth that there is right now! How many PC's or PDA's have got bluetooth yet? almost none! | |

Well, my IPAQ has a bluetooth  But yeah, not all PDA's have bluetooth, but you can buy a CF card to support bluetooth. |

the bluetooth on my nokia 7650 works with the nokia bluetooth headset,not the hbh-15 and hbh-20 because the se bluetooth headsets need a pairing code as the nokias 7650 doesnt need pairing codes

I didn't think you were allowed to market a phone with the BLUETOOTH(TM) brand, unless it supported the Headset profile, according to the Bluetooth SIG ?
Ie. The Bluetooth SIG requires that certain classes of devices MUST support certain profiles - and I thought that "Mobile Phone"s must support Headset-AG ?
So - whats up here? The 7650 is listed on the qualification website as supporting:
- OPP-Client
- OPP-Server (Object Push)
- DUN-GW (Dial Up Networking)
- FT-Server (File Transfer)
- Fax-GW (Fax)
- GAP (General Acces, every thing BT has this)
- Serial-DevA (Serial port)
- Serial-DevB (...)
- OBEX (Object Exchange)
Compared to a T39/T520/T68m it lacks:
- Headset-AG (6310, 6310i, 8910 has this)
- Sync-Server (No Nokia has this...)
Compared to a T68i It further lacks:
- GEOP (Generic Object Exchange, only Mobile ever to have this)
And a new version of T68i (certified June 27.) adds:
- HandsFree-AG (Car-kit profile: 6310, 6310i, 8910 has this)
Its odd that they would not implement Sync, but maybe it is difficult... Many PC-dongles doesn't have it either...
I guess they can't sync to PDA or PC with std. BT software then, has to be special Nokia software 
But not implementing the Headset Profile, that is just EVIL! 
They make their own headsets work anyway in some proprietary way, which is even more evil:  This is what Bluetooth was all about NOT having!!!
Not having the Handfree-AG is just odd  Considering that the 6310, 6310i and 8910 has it, and now it seems T68i is going to too...
Btw. this is used for car-kits. (Note, the 6310 actually has the Handsfree-Unit profile. Usually that is the actual car-kit  )
The Ericssons doesn't have File Transfer, as that requires a file system - they use OPP, Sync, or OBEX instead, but it would still be a "nice to have". Does the 7650 have a filesystem?? Must have. Thats neat! Anyone tried to browse it over Bluetooth? Should be possible...
Btw: The Ericssons doesn't mention OBEX in their specs, however the Ericsson programs use OBEX, so they *does* work... Not certified it seems, though. Not sure if it is automatically implied by Sync ? |

john74, what Nokia Bluetooth headset are you using? The HDW-1 has not yet been released.
And how can Nokia's headset not need pairing codes? That would mean that anyone can use your headset, and that you can use any BT Nokia phone within range without the person knowing about it? Or that multiple Nokia BT products would get confused on which device they are supposed to communicate with. |

7650 sadly doesnt have bluetooth headset profile, BUT I spoke to Nokia about this at the bluetooth congress in Amsterdam, and they told that this would most likely come later on as a software-upgrade.
They told that they where encountering some problems with headset-profile and the Symbian software.
Nokia-bluetooth is built in a different way than e.g. SE,..and they do require passkeys as well,..but they are different.
If You e.g. want to use a HBH-10 headset with 6310i, you need to change the passkey for the headset,..the default is 0000,..that will not work with Nokia phones,..try changing the headset key to e.g. 1234 instead. To change the passkey, you will need e.g. a SE-phone.
BUT you still need to turn on/re-establish the contact/pairing, every time, the phone or headset have been turned off.
Nokia do not have an "automatic registration(mode)" function as the SE phones have.
Nokia did try to construct their bluetooth in an easy way,..but unfortunately ended up with something quite more confusing/not very user-friendly
Guess they will probably get better too at this 
I've tried different headsets with the 6310i (e.g. Bluespoon, HBH-10,15,20, Motorola),..and they all work in this "annoying" way.
When using an Ericsson/SE phone,..there are no problems All works fine !
