Every listing on ebay for a V800 is listed as V800/V802SE ... so I bought one, and I emailed the guy ask asked if it had a japanese keypad and he said yes.

Does that mean that instead of having abc on the keys it'll have Japanese characters?

Is there anyway to replace the keypad to the non-japanese keypad?

hey ... & welcome !!
mmmm you'll still have an english characters on the kepad ....
any way ... the thing that is most bothering in this keypad is the back & C key .... just because the don't have the arrow & C on them .. instead it is written in japanese .....
you can always buy new keypad & covers from EBAY + data cables to turn it into a Z800 ... - which is a better phone ...

thanks for the response.

I've got the T28 cable to do the flash already (I last used it on my T68i about 2 years ago!), and I just found the face covers and english keypads.

However, i read to get to the keypad to replace it, you need to peel off the "1.3 Megapixels" sticker, and then replace it with a new one. As of yet, I've been unable to find these stickers.

SE service points aren't quite as plentiful in the US

Any ideas?

that's the faceplate Quickshare sticker though

I'm talking about the "1.3 Megapixels" (V800) / "MotionEye" (Z800) sticker, that goes at the base of the inner lcd, around the camera lens. Under that long sticker, there's (2) hidden T6 screws that need to be removed to take the housing apart and replace the japanese keypad with an english one.

What I need is that 1.3Megapixels/MotionEye sticker, not the outer cover QuickShare sticker.

I guess you'd have to remember the back and clear buttons, but you could save yourself money and effort by leaving the keypad alone. Other than those buttons the keypad has the English alphabet as well so you can still type.

thanks for the tips everyone

yeah i could just leave the keypad alone .. but it only costs $2 more to add a keypad to my order of new faceplate, and since I already have a T6 screwdriver, I might as well replace it while the cover's off.
