Hey,

I am wondering if anyone who upgraded their phone from a V800 -> Z800 is now having problems with vodaphone live. I can't now see anywhere to download video clips and so forth...voda is being unhelpful. Just wondering if this is a comon thing or if there is a way around this?

Many many thanks

since your phone is now upgraded to Z800 (Not V800) anymore..

and Z800 is not on vodafone support list for the download

that why u can browse the content only...

as soon as they put Z800 on the supported list , it will be fine ^v^!

Is there any way to hack the browser to that it tells Vodafone it is a V800 ?

No. It gets the phone type direct from the phones core programming.

It may be possible tc identify a Z800 as a V800, but I will have to check on this. Even if it is possible I imagine that you might need some knowledge of the process yourself in order to do it or have someone else do it for you.

Knowing someone who is very knowledgable in such matters, who had flashed his V800 to a Z800, who had this problem too doesn't bode well for this being possible.

It's not a fault during upgrade /flash

because the phone is now changed to Z800i completely..even when u connect your phone to computer, you will need a Z800i driver instead of the V800 driver which comes with the phone

again, as soon as, vodafone put the Z800i as the supported model, u will be able to download things (anyway, browing internet , wap, mms are no problem at all)

Problem is now Voda is not going to add the Z800 onto their list considering that the SE is not going to sell it in the UK anymore. So that means no ability to download footy highlights (which was the main reason why I got it! ) Oh well at least the stupid branding is not there anymore

Spoke to voda today and the woman asked for the model number, she said that last week on their systems it said that their technical team was looking into why the unbranded phones were having difficulties accessing the 3G network. She took down some details and said she would pass it on. Don't have you hope high yet, but it could be something.

Just out of curiosity I was wondering if anybody with a V800 flashed to Z800 was having trouble making videocalls on the Vodafone network?
