Hi All,

Can anyone help, I received my K750 yesterday and I love it. Its just that I didnt realise that Sony have changed the connections. I realise why as data transfer is a lot faster than my P800 or K700i. My Car kit has the old connection, can the cradle be changed or do i need to shell out more cash on a new car kit.

Cheers,

Dan

You should be able to get by with a new cradle and system cable, but the system cable will need to be connected to the base unit, the ease of which will depend on its placement.

However, from what I understand, there's a new K750 car handsfree kit that's designed to route the music from your phone to your car stereo speakers. Cool...

K700 and P800 are compatible with HCA-20/HCA-200 carkits, K750 is not according to se dot com/ireland. K750 uses HCA-60 (not compatilble with K7 & P8). The bad news is you'll need a whole new carkit not just the system cable and cradle.

If you want a carkit for all 3, use HCB-300 or the new HCB-700 bluetooth carkit. If you want to charge the K750i on the go and listen to mp3's through your headunit buy the HCA-60 and bin the K7 & P8 (I can't believe I just said that) Please note that the (optional)MP3 wiring connects only to ISO connectors so if your car is of European origin you should be OK. Japanese/American cars use manufacturer specific connectors therefore the S/E wiring won't work.
Get it installed by an expert.

Cheers Lads. At least I know what the story is now. The K700i Used to run Mp3s through my stereo too though I could only listen to 5 or six because of the memory limit. I think im just gonna get a bluetooth one, and charge the phone off the cigarette lighter. My stereo plays MP3 CDs anyway so its all bad!

Thanks,

Dan

@Dan
I'm intrigued. How did you get the MP3 tracks from the K700i to your car stereo?

My Carkit runs through the Pioneer Stereo system, so while the phone is in the cradle, scroll over to media player, which lists your mp3 tracks and then press play. It then runs through the auxilliary on the stereo and hey presto you have MP3 Music through the car stereo speakers.

Cheers,

Dan

So then you must be using the HCE-11 music mute system to connect your carkit to you stereo? Great idea, in NZ we tend to ignore the HCE-11 as very few cars use ISO connectors over here but it could be rewired to fit a manufacturer specific loom I suppose. I shall investigate...
