about a year ago sony showed a gps module and some other stuff that was based on the memory stick does anyone know if this stuff actually get produced? will it fit in the p800?

These are Memory Stick modules, not Memory Stick Duo. No, these will not physically fit in the slot of the P800... besides, why waste the slot on a GPS module, when there's an upcoming Bluetooth GPS module??? At least you get your GPS and still have the slot free for storage and apps!  |

surely thes devices have potential the ms duo format although physically different must use the same basic setup allowing for hardware modules like a wifi module or a tvtuner |

The MemStick Duo is almost half the size of the Memstick and .5mm narrower... a MemStick Duo card can be used in a regular MemStick slot via included adapter...but a regular MemStcik will NOT fit in the new Duo slots since the Duo slots are physically smaller.
The Bluetooth GPS module (Don't remember who's making it) is a GPS module that's supposed to work with any BT enabled smartphone/PDA. Instead of taking up a physical slot, the GPS module transmits the signal to the BT device... so essentially, you can position the GPS on the roof of your car (or something like that) and have the info displayed on your phone/PDA inside your car. Works just like any BT device, pair them, install SW if any, then you're good to go.  |

yes i know i looked it up but do you think the duo format can be adapted for hardware modules like the full size memory stick

The Bluetooth GPS is already out. there's 2 different, but since i'm senile i can't remember the names now.. I'll Google it ! |
