Well yes, after just 5 month of use, my k700's joystick is doing strange things : 2 pushs sometimes to response, ect... Just like my old t610... Just i thing its over for me, no more sony ericsson with a joystick. Maybe i'll try an s700

The positive point is you have the guarantee period. Still you can fix it.

five months of usage and the joystick starts acting up? you must have damaged it somehow or it probably just needs cleaning?
have you ever dropped your k700?
I guess you could try an s700 or maybe even a P series phone with jog-dial. had my P over a year and have never had a prob with the jog dial.

i agree. The s700 directional keys are better than any SE phone with joystick

Is it always worth getting an s700i? Or it'll get old after 2 months when probably a new s series will be released?

@san
yes it is.with the dip on its pricing, it's worth to buy it. It would be more cheaper when the new s series goes out though.

If you're an advanced user and speed is what you require, nothing beats a joystick.
Look after it, keep it clean, treat it with respect and you'll never have trouble.
1 year with the T610 and 1 year with the K700 and still good as gold.

You are not the only one to have problems with SE and joystick failure :-( be open minded. Get yourself a device which works ;-)

i had the same problem on k700i with joystick failure twice, both times i took it into the o2 shop and they repaired it in 5 days...
bit of a pain though having to use an older handset (r380 world!!!) for a few days, but it was a nice nostalgia trip!
i'm hoping that the same problem doesn't arise with the k750i... |
