I have a 10 year old moto that gets amazing reception anywhere. Always better than my newer phones. I think that the new phones have reduced pickup as there are more transmitters than there used to be so there is no need for them to work as hard anymore. This also means that the batteries last longer. |

I've always found that external aerials pick up much better signals than the internal ones. My Moto V500 can get 2-3 bars downstairs in my house and I can make phone calls without having to dash upstairs, whilst my P900, and other phones I've had like the K700 with internal aerials will get one, maybe two bars and drop calls whilst I'm downstairs, or I have to rush upstairs to stop the call breaking up!
Bring back external aerials I say, may not look as pretty but makes the phones a whole lot more useable!

Unfortunately SE has a long standing history of bad signal reception ! Please don't generalize the bad reception to all new cellphones ! My 7650 is the same if not better then my (very) old 5110.And it has a internal aerial buddy. If you really need good reception there is only one cell which stands above the averiege -6310i - unfortunately se does not even make averiege.I could not keep my P900 because I could'nt use it as a cell ! What's the point of getting a cellphone if one can't use it to phone ? :-(

Please guys.
SE is not any worse at reception than any other brand today.
Old phones didnīt care about the radiation as they do today and the battery was bigger and more poweful so thatīs why the had higher effect on the phone.
Nokia 5110, 6110, 6150 Ericsson 628,688,868,888. all of them takes a piss on new phones and their reception. |

I mean getting a k750i worth 420US$ and then gettin down on its reception, tht's not a pleasant thing some 1 would wanna get. Could the signal be fixed by FW or must it be hardware (as in to do with the antenna) |

I think that the signal can be improved by a software upgrade!Like K700i!With its' first software the signal was pretty bad,but with the latest firmware the signal is exceptional! Also,my S700i is one of the best phones in singal,i think! But that's my opinion!By the way, before 5-10 years, reception wasn't good,so the aerials must was of an exceptional quality!Nowadays, this isn't important,as the reception is very good!At least in my country(Greece!)
